James Kwame is a Lead Manufacturing Technologist at Lloyd's Register, specialising in materials engineering, welding, non-destructive testing, and manufacturing technologies for the maritime and energy sectors. His work spans the development and maintenance of Rules, technical procedures, and guidance documents governing materials and fabrication assurance.

James leads client decarbonisation initiatives focused on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and the ship transport of CO₂. His portfolio includes joint industry projects addressing corrosion challenges in CO₂ service, material selection for CO₂ cargo tanks, and CO₂ quality specifications for marine transportation.
